Corporate video

Films that have to do a job inside a business, not win an award for looking like a commercial.

What usually gets made

  • Internal communications: strategy, change programmes, results and town halls
  • Case studies and customer stories
  • Leadership and founder films
  • Recruitment and employer brand
  • Training, induction and process explainers
  • Conference openers, sizzles and event recaps
  • Corporate social investment and sustainability reporting

Most of it is an interview, and that is the hard part

Corporate video usually rests on someone speaking to camera, and the difference between a film that works and one that gets quietly shelved is almost always what happened in that chair. That means a pre-interview conversation, questions written to get answers rather than statements, and enough time on the day that the third take — the one where they stop performing — actually gets shot.

It also means being willing to say when a message is not landing, before the crew is booked.

The parts nobody enjoys

Corporate work carries requirements that creative work does not: brand guidelines that must be followed to the letter, legal and compliance review, accessibility and captioning, and sign-off chains with more than one opinion in them. All of that is scoped up front rather than discovered in round four.

Deliverables are built for where they will actually play — an intranet player, a town hall screen, a LinkedIn feed and a trade show loop are four different exports, and all four are made from one master.

What it costs

Quoted per project, because the cost of a film lives in the shoot rather than in a rate card. The drivers are broken down on the pricing page, and the FAQ answers what a corporate video actually costs in South Africa.
