Challenge & solution
These films get edited in real time, for delivery on the day or within about sixteen hours of the event ending. You’re not chasing a clever structure. You’re ingesting and managing a lot of footage from several videographers, then cutting a film that still has a pulse when you’re that tired.
I enjoy them. The pace is intense, it’s a full day’s work, and when you’re done, you’re done. That’s a different feeling to a long-running commercial edit, and some days it’s the better one.
