Corporate video
The Brenthurst
The Brenthurst in Johannesburg houses the Oppenheimer family's private collection of African art. I wasn't on the shoot. Peter Heaney directed for 9mm Films, and my job was to find the story in the interviews and cut it.

Challenge & solution
This is about the people who restore, archive and show a private collection of African art. Three interviewees, a stretch of bead restoration, and a lot of care in the way they talk about the work. I hadn’t been on set, so the edit was the whole job for me: listening to the dialogue, finding the story, and letting the pride in that collection come through without dressing it up.
I’ve worked with 9mm Films for years and I love the work we do together. The music did a lot in this one. You can hear how much those archivists care, and that’s what I wanted the film to hold.
The discipline
This one came through corporate video. Internal comms, case studies and leadership films, start to finish.
