Mi Casa, These Streets
Director Brandon Olofsa, producer Dan Wittendahl, DOP Bradley Devine. I cut Mi Casa's video for These Streets, the breakout from their self-titled Soul Candi album. J-something wakes on a bed in the middle of Alexandra, and the music starts coming through him.

Challenge & solution
He gets up and walks the streets. His two bandmates join him. It becomes a dance through a Johannesburg that is loud and alive and very specifically itself. I was the editor: finding the geography of that walk, cutting on the feeling of the record, keeping three people in a city that never sits still.
Music videos usually arrive with almost no budget, and I take them anyway. I love music, and I love this industry. These Streets went to number one on every major South African radio and music-video chart, won viewer-voted Song of the Year at the SAMAs, and the band went on to open for Drake. I’m still glad to have my name on this cut.
