Commercial production
Hippo, wire removal
Tessa Ford Post brought me onto a Hippo insurance commercial to clean the image and pull the wires off a puppeted hippo, operated by two puppeteers. I did the couch scenes and the scenes around the table, and nothing else.

Challenge & solution
This was before After Effects had the finishing tools everyone uses now, so the wires came out by hand, frame by frame. Two puppeteers were driving the hippo. My job was to make them disappear without taking the puppet with them. It’s unglamorous work, and it’s a real craft.
I only owned a portion of the job, which is why I want it kept in the portfolio. Not as a full commercial credit. As proof of a kind of cleanup most people never see.

This one came through commercial production. Brand and retail commercials for agencies and in-house teams.
